Why is it important?

As a parent, I know how confusing and overwhelming parenting decisions can be—often made chaotically and under pressure. Technology and media content are everywhere, becoming an essential part of our survival kit.

From my experience, while many resources exist to help parents navigate tech, parents next door—those who aren’t part of children’s industries (you’d be surprised how many people don’t realize designing for children is a field)—rarely seek them out or even know they exist.

We are constantly making choices that shape our children’s present and future. I am committed to connecting parents with industry knowledge about technology and childhood, equipping families with the tools they need to make better choices, nurture healthy consumption habits, and—most importantly—nurture positive relationships around tech within their unique family context.

More about Polina Lulu

I’m a child experience researcher and consultant. My life is divided into two parts—before and after kids. Parenting has been the best gift I could ask for, both personally and professionally. It challenged almost everything I knew about educational design, learning, child development, and experience design.

Before, I was on a clear path toward a career in designing educational games as the best way to help kids learn joyfully. After, I realized that what I truly care about are the kids themselves—connecting to their perspective and facilitating positive child experiences—ones worth creating and sharing with the children we love.

Today, I am weaving connections between children’s industries, supporting the transfer of knowledge into design practices, and helping kids and families discover and make the most of the great products and ideas that are out there.
